What makes a good friend?

This week we started our first Unit of Inquiry about 'Who We Are: Communication with others impacts stronger relationships".

So we learned about ways we can communicate with words and our body to tell our friends things. For example, if someone is hurting you, you can say, "no, thank you, I don't like it."
You could also put your hand out to say stop.

We talked about how we can be good friends such as inviting our friends to play, or when they are hurt or sad, asking them "Are you okay?"
We then did a cut and paste activity where we looked at pictures of friends who are being caring or not being caring to others.

In Pre K B we also looked at members of our family because they are part of 'Who We Are". The children drew the members of their family on a family tree picture, and they used green paint to make leaves in the shape of their hands to make a family tree next week.
So we would like each student to bring a photo (*photocopy please) that we can glue to the hand they made.
Have a great weekend and please send the homework sheet back on Monday so we can check it.
